How many lessons do I need to take before taking the Driving Test?

Different people acquires their own set of skills and learning abilities (slow or fast).
As a novice driver at the age of 16, you are required to complete 120 hours of supervised driving, including 20 hours of night driving. You are prohibited to take the driving test and get your P’s until the age 18.
Moreover, beginners at the age of 21 or over are recommended to have at least 10-15 of professional driving tuition before taking their driving test.

Can I take the instructor’s car to the Driving Test?

You are allowed to take the instructor’s car alongside the instructor to the driving test*. However, the instructor is prohibited to communicate with the student once the test begins and ongoing.

Can I drive with an overseas driver’s license?

It’s important to check if your overseas license is current and valid – to do so, visit your nearest QLD Transport and motoring service centres or visit the QLD Transport and motoring service website on Overseas Drivers here.

How many students do you teach per week?

I am a full-time driving instructor, available 6 days a week.
I teach an average of 6-10 students per day, with an estimate of about 40 hours a week, and 120 hours per month (including driving tests).

What are the prices of licences, tests and etc?

What’s the best way to get in touch with the instructor?

The instructor, Michael, is available for contact everyday, at any time of day. Make lessons by appointment for further enquiries via text (preferably) or phone call.

Unanswered texts and voicemails before 11pm will be responded to in a matter of 3 hours or less.

What is required from the student during the driving lesson?

Drivers at the age of 18 and under need to bring their logbook to every lesson. Besides that, all drivers must bring their learner’s permit and form of payment.

When’s the latest time I can cancel my appointment?

Preferably, 24 hours notice to cancel a driving lesson appointment. However, in case of emergencies and certain circumstances, a minimum of 2 hours is okay; any lesser may cause complications to the instructor’s schedule.

How do I transfer payments?

Singular lessons are preferably paid before every driving lesson.
Package lessons can either be split payment per lesson or paid in full before the first lesson of the package.
All payments can be electronically transferred or cash in hand.

What is covered in the driving lessons?

The skills you’ll be taught will align with the criteria and expectations from the QLD Transport and motoring driving test; parking, head-checks, road sign rules, speed limit guidelines and much more.
Additional to practice building confidence, safety and alertness on the road, the instructor will train each student with high standards to correlate with QLD Transport and motoring expectations.
